Classrooms on data.world provide a free, private space for you to work with your students collaboratively on data projects. To get started, go to our create a classroom page. If you don't already have a personal data.world account you'll be prompted to create one:
After you have an account you'll be able to create an organization for your class. Class size is limited to 100 students. If you need to add more please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org:
Once you've created the organization for your class you can invite students to join it via a url. When someone signs up with this link you'll be asked to approve their request to join the organization:
To view or edit the settings for your organization--including configuring it for your Tableau server--go to the organization homepage from the left sidebar of your own homepage:
To enter your Tableau credentials into the organization's preferences (enabling previews for Tableau server links within your organization) select Settings from the menu and Preferences from the left sidebar:
The Preferences section is also where you verify that you set the organization up so people can request to join. Make sure that Allow community members to request to join this organization is checked.
If you want to get the link for students to join after you've already created the organization, go to the People tab on the organization homepage menu. The shareable link is located at the bottom of the page:
When students go to the link they will be prompted to join or sign-in to data, world:
After registering/requesting they'll get a confirmation screen:
You will also receive notifications in both email and in your notifications on data.world that you have a request to join your organization:
